The financial industry is experiencing a rapid transformation with consumers and corporates moving towards a digital economy. Traditional financial institutions are changing the ways they work with clients and ecosystem partners to accelerate the pace of innovation. In this session, Sandra will share the benefits of applying design thinking and how financial institutions can leverage it to innovate externally with clients and FinTechs to explore emerging technologies and co-create new solutions.

About the Speaker

Sandra Lam is an innovation advocate in the financial services industry. She currently works as an Innovation Catalyst and Partnerships Lead, Senior Vice President at Citi Innovation Lab where she drives the acceleration of innovation delivery with startups, regulatory bodies and academia partners. She is dedicated to foster partnerships between mature corporates and agile startups to accelerate transformation of businesses. She leads experiments by designing proof of concepts and expedite connectivity with startups via sandbox. She also leads FinTech program in Citi to coach industry experts on innovating by bringing the outside in.

Sandra has spent more than a decade in the financial services and technology. Known for her passion, curiosity and strong collaboration skills, she has managed change, led innovation and coached intraprenuership, putting organizations on a path of growth enabled by technology. In addition, she also applies design thinking to co-create with clients in various sectors and led technology product development from ideation.

Sandra holds a Master’s degree of IT in Business from Singapore Management University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong.

Sandra is passionate about driving diversity and inclusion. She is a strong believer in diversity-driven innovation. She is a committee member of Women in FinTech Singapore, a subcommittee of Singapore FinTech Association. Via the work of Women in FinTech, she represents the voice of women in the FinTech industry and help provides a platform for women and male sponsors in the industry / who are interested in joining the industry to network, share and mentor.
