Nang Laik is senior lecturer in SIM University. Prior to that she has been working as a director of Master of IT in Business-Analytics (MITB-A) programme in School of Computing and Information Systems in Singapore Management University (SMU) for several years. She holds a PhD from Imperial College, London where her research interest is to apply operations research (OR) to solve real-world problems in the area of optimization of resource, capacity planning, simulation and decision support systems. My teaching philosophy is to act as a facilitator to share my experience with the students and be a motivator so that students realize their potential to continue life-long learning and cultivate learning as a habit.

She teaches undergraduate core modules and master level courses in SIM University and SMU. She has been teaching Business Process Modelling course and Computer as an Analysis Tool and Business Analytics Practicum. Her research expertise lies in the simulation and modelling of large scale real-world problems and the development of computationally efficient algorithms to enable sound and intelligent decision making in the organization.

Nang Laik is an expert in transportation and logistics industry, she serves as a consultant for one of the best airports - Changi Airport Group to use data and decision Analytics to generate insights, make better decision and improve the business efficiency and productivity. She has also previously worked in one of the largest container ports - PSA to develop and implement multi-million dollars decision support system to aid the yard planning process in the port. The automation assists to remove mundane work and reduce human errors. Nang Laik also has years of experience working in the IT department in Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) and involved in the development of Remittance System and system integration.
